Unprecedented Momentum,
UNMATCHED VISION

The momentum that started over a century ago in Gainesville has continued through the addition of campuses in Jacksonville and Orlando and fueled the college’s steady ascent up the national rankings over the last decade. In 2024, the college attained its best-ever position in the U.S. News & World Report list of leading pharmacy colleges, climbing to No. 4 in the country and becoming the highest-ranked of all 16 UF colleges. There is no other time in our history where the college has been better positioned as a national leader in pharmacy education and research.

HiPerGator Supercomputer
is the fastest of any university in the country, giving the college a key advantage in identifying artificial intelligence-based solutions that will support faculty and students as pharmacy evolves.

Malachowsky Hall for Data Science & Information Technology
The college has a prime position in UF’s new state-of-the-art Malachowsky Hall for DS & IT, which unites the university’s AI experts and data scientists from pharmacy, medicine, engineering, and bioinformatics to create multidisciplinary solutions to the world’s greatest challenges.

Herbert Wertheim UF Scripps Institute for Biomedical Innovation & Technology
The Herbert Wertheim UF Scripps institute in Jupiter is a national leader in medical science, collaborating with the college on drug discovery from marine and terrestrial natural products. This partnership includes joint faculty appointments and graduate student recruitment.

UF Innovate
The university is a national leader at moving new discoveries from the lab to the real world. In 2022, UF was ranked the best public university in the nation for tech transfer. The university’s tech transfer prowess is accelerated by UF Innovate, which was named the best business incubator in the world by the International Business Innovation Association.
This sustained growth trajectory has led the college to a critical inflection point. Instead of being counted among the nation’s best, we aspire to become America’s top pharmacy college. However, the move from No. 4 to No. 1 requires something truly transformational — a catalytic, $50M naming gift that will accelerate UF Pharmacy’s strategic priorities and close the gap between the college’s current endowment and the top three programs. To reach the pinnacle, college leadership has identified three transformative pillars that will guide our continued evolution as the University of Florida Phillip & Patricia Frost College of Pharmacy.
It is only appropriate that we share this vision with you now. Your partnership will ignite a brighter future for our faculty and students, and your own unique experience will light the way for pharmacy’s next generation. From the invaluable support of faculty like Leslie Hendeles and Mel Rubin, to your education in the science of medicine that helped you focus on novel opportunities in academia, clinical practice, and business — we seek to bring this life-changing experience to all UF pharmacy students.

PILLAR 1 | INSPIRING ENTREPRENEURSHIP & INNOVATION
The UF Phillip & Patricia Frost College of Pharmacy seeks to advance educational models that prepare graduates to thrive in today’s workforce while shaping the future of pharmacy practice and the pharmaceutical sciences. Students must be prepared to pivot, adapt, and evolve as pharmacy professionals and scientists in a changing healthcare environment, similar to your own success story with Key Pharmaceuticals.

The strength of a college is defined by its faculty — visionary leaders who shape the next generation while pursuing advanced research that expands the horizons of their field. Research activities in the college span the entire life cycle of a drug from discovery to patient care and include broad interest areas such as medicinal chemistry, pharmaceutics, pharmacology, clinical and translational research, regulatory science, and pharmaceutical outcomes, policy, and economics.

With philanthropic support, the college aspires to expand the number of scholarships offered to Pharm.D. students and grow graduate fellowships to ensure the best and brightest students, regardless of income level, geography, or circumstance, have a place at the UF Phillip & Patricia Frost College of Pharmacy.

THE UF PHILLIP & PATRICIA FROST COLLEGE OF PHARMACY
OUR VISION TO TRANSFORM THE FUTURE
The UF College of Pharmacy is on the precipice of greatness. The college’s remarkable trajectory has placed it firmly among the best programs in the nation. But much like the spirit of ingenuity and determination that defined your career, we don’t strive to be among the best. Our vision is to become the nation’s premier college of pharmacy. With a transformational, $50M naming gift, we will write the college’s next chapter with a new title — The UF Phillip & Patricia Frost College of Pharmacy.
