The current locker rooms for Georgia Tech Swimming & Diving have a proud history. They have housed ACC champions, All-Americans, NCAA champions and Olympic medalists. However, that space is “tired.” Toni M. and Richard L. Bergmark Swimming & Diving Head Coach, Courtney Hart has identified renovating their locker rooms as a top priority for their program to be able to build on its tradition of developing champions.

Difference Fundraising Goal
"Courtney’s highest priority is to renovate the locker rooms – this re-do needs to be done to remain competitive, not just for retention but also for recruiting. For those of us who used them to change in during the alumni meet, we can attest to the need. The lockers are literally falling apart.
The good news is that we have almost all funding lined up for this $1.5 million project but need $250,000 to cross the finish line to be able to put in the lockers during 2023. There are a few ways we can do this, but an idea would be for the GTSD alumni to make the gift to Courtney’s program.
Even if just 100 of the Alumni Weekend participants contributed to the project, we could get this done with $2,500 commitments ($500 per year for five years), or if 500 GTSD letterwinners contributed $500 each, that would get us to the goal, as well.
The opportunity to name a locker for $25,000 (payable over five years) also exists, so there are gifting levels across the board to encourage participation from everyone.
This is the first time we have tried to do an alumni group gift to the program of this importance, so please join me to make the new locker rooms a reality in 2023."
These improvements are designed to address the core components of our mission with Georgia Tech Athletics and the swimming and diving program:
The philanthropy provided by the generosity of Georgia Tech Swimming & Diving alumni and friends will be transformative in ushering these programs into a new era of championship-level success.
In addition, this renovation will serve to recruit the most academically and athletically gifted student-athletes from around the globe, and a huge step forward for a program with a storied history on the Georgia Tech campus.
