About Bradley A. Maron, MD

Dr. Bradley Maron is the Senior Associate Dean for Precision Medicine at the University of Maryland School of Medicine, Executive Co-Director of the University of Maryland Institute for Health Computing (UM-IHC) in North Bethesda, Maryland, Professor of Medicine at the University of Maryland School of Medicine and a Fellow of the American Heart Association. He graduated from Williams College and Warren Alpert Medical School at Brown University. He completed his residency in Internal Medicine at Boston Medical Center prior to completing the ABIM physician-scientist research pathway at Brigham and Women’s Hospital and Harvard Medical School, where he also trained as a Fellow in Cardiovascular Medicine.

Dr. Maron’s research discovers novel molecular mechanisms underpinning cardiovascular disease. He has led collaborative projects contributing to drug development programs, epidemiological studies leading to a revised definition of pulmonary hypertension, and public health studies. In partnership with his co-directors and colleagues, Dr. Maron has helped progress the UM-IHC to a formidable research institution that boasts 125 members who have contributed to high-impact reports on drug discovery, novel environmental influences of human disease, and clinically actionable large language model development.
