A Lifelong Swim Journey
Georgia Tech Swim & Dive Alumni Mike Wise competed in the 2024 Trans Tahoe Relay, one of the nation’s premier open-water swim races held in the Sierra Nevada Mountains. The “GT Fun Team” included GT President Ángel Cabrera and a standout group of Georgia Tech-affiliated athletes, including Mike and fellow Swim & Dive alumni. The six-person team, invited by alumnus Dick Bergmark, tackled the 11.4-mile relay with each swimmer rotating in 10-minute intervals after an initial 30-minute leg. They finished with an impressive time of 4:23:57.
Mike continues to swim and compete and enjoys the challenges of United States Master Swimming (USMS), where Mike has been ranked in the top 10 for over two decades.
