Gifts from Sorin Society members primarily fund the University’s commitment to meet the full demonstrated financial aid need of every Notre Dame student—a commitment made by fewer than 60 universities across the country. Additionally, through their annual gifts, Sorin Society members give University leaders the flexibility to further the Catholic mission of the University, enhance student life and experiences, and fund other priorities and areas of need.

Financial Aid
With increased need from families of current students and one of the largest undergraduate enrollments in a given academic year, Sorin Society funds were more critical than ever. We only expect a growing need as 20% of the incoming Class of 2025 is eligible to receive full financial aid.
Catholic Mission
Over $2 million of Sorin Society funds, or about 10% of total funding, was used to provide the full Notre Dame experience to our students. For mind, body, and soul, Sorin Society funds made various events and activities possible–from campus ministry retreats to residential experiences.
Student Experience
The Sorin Society provided approximately 12% of the $173 million awarded in need based financial aid for the 2020-21 academic year. Only through the generosity of our Sorin Society
members was the University able to offer financial aid to an increasing number of students, with 70% of students receiving
some sort of financial aid.
